The National Park of Risnjak contains parts of the administrative territory of the towns of Čabar, Delnice and Bakar as well as the local communities of Lokve and Čavle and has the total territory of 6,400 hectares. The Park was established in 1977 and includes the source of the Kupa river and a part of the Croatian Snježnik. 2,758 hectares or 43% of the territory of the NP Risnjak is included in the administrative area of the town of Čabar. It includes settlements in the Hrib region: Dolari, Podgrič, Donji, Srednji and Gornji Kupari and Konjci as well as Gerovo and the Gerovo region. Here live 28 inhabitants (according to the data collected in the Physical Plan of the National Park "Risnjak").
